Film Cassidy and the Kid return to big screen

Sunday & Wednesday. As part of their year-long exhibition series, Turner Classic Movies and Denver-based Fathom Events are bringing 1969’s “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” back to 650 theaters, including a dozen along the Front Range. United Artist Denver Pavilions 15, Lakewood’s Bel Mar 16, the Aurora 16 and nine others will host the film for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. screenings on Jan. 17 and Jan. 20 — the first time it’s seen wide release in four decades. Filmed partially in Colorado’s high country, the sprightly, Oscar-winning Western stars Robert Redford and Paul Newman at their magnetic best as the famous outlaws. $7-$12.50. for tickets and locations. — John Wenzel
