WinterBike at Copper.

Copper Mountain will host the fifth annual WinterBike race on Jan. 23. This family-friendly event will include a Strider LittleBike and JuniorBike before the traditional night mountain bike race around the resort. The cost to enter the race is $20, and all proceeds benefit Leadville’s Cloud City Wheelers.

Snow sculpture.

Snow artists from around the world will compete in this year’s International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge, Jan. 26-30. Teams will create works of art out of 20-ton blocks of snow using only hand tools, and the resulting sculptures will be on display through Feb. 7, weather permitting.

Winter Carnival.

The Grand Lake Chamber will host its Winter Carnival on Jan. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to midnight. Carnival events will include teapot curling, snow golf, vintage snowmobile races on Grand Lake, kids’ activities, a parade, sled races, fireworks and live music. 970-531-0099 or /

Snowshoe race.

The second annual Cupid’s Revenge Snowshoe Race will be held in Winter Park on Feb. 14. The 4-mile, timed snowshoe and trail shoes race starts at 10 a.m. in Hideaway Park and winds through the old Idlewild Ski Area.
