A motorcycle rider died late Monday night in Arapahoe County after he drove into a curb and was thrown from the motorcycle, authorities say.

The name of the 46-year-old Denver man has not been released.

The one-vehicle crash happened at South Natches Court and West Stanford Avenue at about 11 p.m., Trooper Nate Lewis of the Colorado State Patrol said.

The man was riding a 1983 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on South Natches Court when he crossed into the northbound lanes, struck a curb and went airborne, Lewis said.

The man was not wearing a helmet, he said.

Authorities are investigating whether the man was impaired by alcohol or drugs, Lewis said.
