Trevor Starr holds his sign in support of the introduction of wolves into Colorado at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife offices on Jan. 13 in Denver. Protesters for and against a resolution to ban any introduction of wolves into Colorado, mainly the Mexican wolf (Brent Lewis, The Denver Post)

Re: “Colorado turns cold shoulder to endangered wolves” Jan. 14 news story.

All these people who think we need to introduce wolves to Colorado really don’t know that wildlife in this state is managed just fine without another predator. Colorado’s wildlife division keeps the populations at the right levels so that they don’t overpopulate. They do so by allowing hunters to harvest animals to keep things at the right ratios, and some of those small towns that welcome hunters depend on the money spent by hunters for their vitality.
