1 Victim beaten for backpack. On Jan. 6, Denver police responded to an assault and robbery near the intersection of West Mexico and South Canosa Court. The victim told police that he was approached from behind and knocked to the ground by two suspects.

2 Habitual 911 caller cited. Police were summoned Jan. 9 to the 3900 block of Shoshone Street after a woman called 911, but refused to answer questions and did not respond to callbacks. The woman had called 911 nine previous times, but had no indication of illness or problems. The suspect’s mother said the suspect calls 911 for attention.

3 Man stabbed during fight. On Jan. 11, police went to the 1200 block of Yosemite Street on a report of a fight where a victim had been stabbed. The suspect was seen breaking out windows of an apartment building and then got involved in an altercation. The suspect then stabbed the victim with a sharp object.

4 Woman assaulted, pipe broken. A woman called police Jan. 10 after she was assaulted at her home in the 1100 block of South Canosa Court. The woman said she was in the basement and opened the door for the suspect, who punched her in the head and broke her pipe on the ground.

5 Employee confronts hall sleeper. On Jan. 8, police were called to the Newhouse Hotel, 1470 Grant St., after a trespasser assaulted an employee. The employee had confronted the suspect, who was sleeping in the hall and not staying or living at the hotel. The two scuffled and the employee got help in restraining the suspect.
