Hach Co., a Loveland-based manufacturer of water-quality testing products, plans to expand its campus near Fort Collins-Loveland Airport by 86,000 square feet.

The company said Thursday it expects to break ground this spring on the building that will be used for research and development of analytical instruments, software and reagents and will include testing and development labs.

Hach now employs about 750 people at its two-building, 200,000-square-foot campus, and 50 workers in rented space in Fort Collins.

The new building, expected to be ready in late 2017, will allow Hach to accommodate growth long-term, the company said in a news release.
