GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — The Grand Junction Regional Airport is without an executive director after the Airport Authority fired the last one.
The Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1QyS44d ) that Airport Authority members say the terminated David Fiore’s employment due to concerns about his management and leadership, communications with airport personnel, communications with board members and members of the community, and his involvement with the board’s review of personnel matters.
Fiore says he was fired in retaliation, saying there is an investigation into some board members’ improprieties.
Fiore was hired in September after a national search. His appointment came after the organization faced an FBI investigation into fraud allegations. No arrests resulted from that probe.
