Texas Tech graduate transfer quarterback Davis Webb has committed to the Colorado Buffaloes, the 21-year-old wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

“Thank you @CoachMikeMac and CU for the opportunity…I have committed to Colorado!” he tweeted.

Webb played three seasons at Texas Tech, starting in his first two before suffering a season-ending ankle injury late in his sophomore year. Patrick Mahomes took over as the Red Raiders’ starter. Webb was relegated as Mahomes’ backup in 2015.

In 23 games, Webb threw for 5,557 yards, 46 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He is the only quarterback in Texas Tech history to record at least one touchdown pass in each of his first 18 games.

“The past three years, I have truly lived a dream that few get the opportunity to experience,” Webb said in a news release in December 2015.”

Webb, who is 6-foot-5, 224 pounds, will graduate from Texas Tech in the spring and will be eligible to play for the Buffaloes in the 2016 season.

“Davis Webb is the hardest working individual I’ve ever had the privilege of coaching,” Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said in a December 2015 news release. “He’s a fierce competitor and an extremely talented quarterback. Wherever Davis lands, he will immediately change the outlook of that program.”
