Authorities have identified the 25-year-old woman from Colorado
The death of Lauren Mann is being investigated by Austrian police, said Beth Finan, spokeswoman for the Bureau of Consular Affairs.
Police spokesman Thomas Keiblinger said Wednesday Mann’s body was found after she did not show up at the home where she worked as an au pair and her employer called police.
Police and firefighters who forced open her door Tuesday evening found her body on a mattress in the bedroom. An autopsy is being conducted.
Out of respect for Mann’s family, Finan said additional details about Mann were not being released at this time.
