Denver Broncos fans are angry, and rightly so. As should be NFL fans everywhere. Trying to find a season-ticket holder who won the Super Bowl ticket lottery is next to impossible.
Levi s Stadium holds roughly 75,000 fans, and per NFL rules, the Broncos and Panthers get 17.5 percent of the available seats, about 13,125 each. The NFL retains 25.2 percent, the host gets 5 percent, and the other 29 teams get 1.2 percent each. However, what the teams won t tell you is how many of these seats are made available to us, the season-ticket holders (paying fans). They hold a large number for resale to travel firms to sell as packages. CBS4 and other local news media have tried to find out the exact number made for sale, to no avail.
Fans deserve transparency and answers. Sadly, we must face the fact the league does not want us there; this game is for the super-rich, corporate sponsors, celebrities, and those with connections.

This letter was published in the Jan. 29 edition. Her we go again. Our beloved Denver Broncos are headed off to another Super Bowl, and as in the past, the average Joe can t attend the game. The NFL and the Broncos will continue to hide behind a veil of secrecy about ticket distribution. Every year the fat cats and celebrities get their shares while the true fans can only buy tickets at out-of-reach prices on the resale market.
As a 25-year season-ticket holder who has never sold his seats to an opposing fan, it might be time to re-evaluate my ticket policy.
