Interview with Ray Johnson II, co-owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: My dad was involved in a semi-truck accident in June 2015 and needed to start up another business in which he was not a truck driver anymore. And since my dad, my brother and myself are sports fans we decided to open up a sports apparel store.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are family owned and we are not located in a mall. So, being a family owned business, we like to treat each customer like family and not just another customer.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I personally like talking to each customer about sports or just anything in life. I like to put a smile on someone’s face and help them find what they are looking for, even if it means sending them to another store. I know that I was helping them out.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Surviving. I know it takes a while for your name to get out there. So, until that happens, all of us are barely living.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: That my dad is a veteran who came close to death this past summer, and now we are just trying to survive. Plus, we are very big Broncos fans, so we do have a lot of Colorado sports team gear in here. But we can special order almost anything from other teams.
