
1 Golf balls dropped. On Jan. 24, two people called Denver police after they were nearly hit with golf balls dropped from the 10th floor of a building near the intersection of 21st and Lawrence streets. An officer contacted the suspect. He had golf balls in his apartment and admitted to drinking at a bar during the Broncos game.
2 Handicapped man bit, robbed. Police responded to an incident Jan. 26 in the 1600 block of Welton Street where a disabled panhandler was robbed and bitten. A witness said the victim was putting some money into his pocket when the suspect grabbed his hand in an attempt to steal it. He bit the victim’s hand and fled with the money. He was later apprehended with $37 in torn bills.
3 Man beaten, robbed. On Jan. 23, a man was hit with the butt end of a gun and a baton and then robbed by three suspects in the 3900 block of Federal Boulevard. The man told police he was approached by three strangers and when he tried to leave, he was beaten. The suspects took his backpack.
4 Drunk woman climbs in trunk. Police arrested a woman Jan. 25 after she was found publicly intoxicated in the 2700 block of Larimer Street. The woman was put in the back of a police car to wait for a detox vehicle, but when it arrived, police learned she had damaged the divider between the back seat and trunk and gone in to lie down.
5 Cat burglar found catnapping. On Jan. 22, a man called police after he noticed a burglar had entered his home in the 1000 block of Raleigh Street. The man noticed his door slightly ajar and went inside to find the suspect sleeping on his couch.
