1 Man tries to sneak a sleep. A caretaker found a man hiding under a bed at a bed and breakfast Jan. 20 in the 4000 block of Independence Trail, Evergreen. The suspect said he snuck in through an unlocked door seeking a place to get warm and clean up, as he is homeless. The hotel owner chose not to press charges.

2 Suspicious survey taker. A resident of the 10000 block of South Foxton Road, Conifer, reported Jan. 19 that a man came to her house, handed her some dishwasher detergent, and asked if he could come inside and conduct a survey. She refused and was suspicious because her driveway is long and not plowed, and the man dressed and acted strangely.

3 Candy cane cord cut. A resident of the 18000 block of West Fourth Avenue, Golden, reported Jan. 20 that the cord to a candy cane light decoration in his front yard appeared to have been cut. There were no suspects.

4 Man arrested after throwing milk, beef. A man was arrested Jan. 19 after he threw a bottle of milk and upended a frying pan of ground beef at a home in the 8000 block of Summit Drive, Morrison. He was reported by his ex-girlfriend, who believed he did it “to make me clean it up” and cited his history of anger.

5 Suspect spits on car. Police went to the Kohl’s at 16700 W. Colfax Ave., Golden, on Jan. 17, where a man said that he was in his car waiting for relatives, who were shopping in the store, when a woman pulled up in a car behind him and started yelling. Then a man exited the store, got into the woman’s car and spit on the victim’s car before speeding away. There were no leads.
