A funeral for the second teen who died after falling through an icy Parker pond is set for late afternoon Wednesday at Crossroads Community Church.

Family and friends of 15-year-old Max Gantnier will gather at 4:30 p.m. at the church, 9900 Twenty Mile Road in Parker, according to a memorial page for the teen.

In lieu of flowers, Gantnier’s family asks attendees to bring one or more of their favorite books that can be collected and shared with organizations that promote reading. Anyone attending the funeral is asked to wear green — Gantnier’s favorite color.

Gantnier died Jan. 25 after the Jan. 14 accident in which he and two of his classmates fell through ice on a pond.
