Re: Denver readies rules for Airbnb, VRBO owners as multi-property owners push back, Feb. 3 news story.
Your article about short-term rentals describes how local businessman Jason Walton had rented his house for 300 nights a year for wedding parties, several touring musicians, and a Mexican television show that filmed a soap opera episode. After Denver issued Walton a cease-and-desist order, he said he couldn t understand why the city wanted to get its fingers in my entrepreneurial idea. Perhaps he should ask his neighbors. I m sure many of them thought they were moving into a residential neighborhood. How happy were they with all of this?
The city has an absolute right to protect its neighborhoods for the benefit of all residents, and it seems that is what they are trying to do.
