I read your article with great interest. My grandmother, Edna Milliken, attended Emily Griffith s school in 1927 when Emily was the principal. Because of the training my grandmother got at the school, the job placement assistance, and free tuition, she was able to expand her education, getting a job as a clerk at the Purple Sage Oil Company. She made sure everyone in our family knew the importance of a good education.
My grandmother is also mentioned in the book Class Acts: Stories from Emily Griffith Opportunity School, written by Carolyn Brink.
Thank you for letting everyone know what a great person Emily truly was.
