Broomfield High School standout midfielder received Gatorade Colorado boys soccer player of the year honors.
The 5-foot-8, 145-pound senior helped the in 2014 and 2015. This past season, Broomfield went 18-2, and Milner had 12 goals and 16 assists. He finished his high school career with 28 goals, 35 assists.
“Porter Milner is soooo much more than a stat guy,” head coach of Fossil Ridge High, Shannon Clarke, said in a Gatorade statement. “His ability to consistently do the dirty work from box to box and his leadership on that squad — we had no solution for him.”
Milner signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer on scholarship at Regis this coming fall.
He is the second Gatorade Colorado boys soccer POY from Broomfield — midfielder/forward Cole won in 2009-10. Milner is a finalist for Gatorade’s national boys soccer POY award .
