Through May 1. The exhibit, Above the Fold: New Expressions in Contemporary Origami, explores the more sophisticated side of the ancient craft of folding paper into complicated visual objects. The traveling show, at the Longmont Museum, features nine artists from Japan, Europe and North America who bring a contemporary flair to their work.

The pieces are large and small, abstract and figurative and incorporate multimedia elements. They also don’t shy away from making political and social messages.
