Denver firefighters rescued a construction worker injured at a downtown site Monday morning.

Melissa Taylor, spokeswoman for the city’s fire department, said the worker was in a hole 20-feet deep when the ground beneath him gave way.

Taylor said the worker had minor injuries and was extricated from the hole.

The worker was at a construction site near the intersection of 17th and Lincoln streets when he was injured about 11:15 a.m.
