A man armed with a rifle, who was pacing back and forth on a public sidewalk, was arrested Tuesday in Commerce City, police said.
Officers were called at about 8:20 a.m. to the intersection of East 72nd Avenue and Fairfax Drive on a report of an armed man.
When officers arrived they found a man who was sweating profusely and appeared agitated, disoriented and under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a Commerce City Police Department media release.
The man, who had parked his vehicle on the sidewalk, was “pacing back and forth holding a semi-automatic rifle with his finger on the trigger,” police said.
Shahean Ali Falatoonzdeh, 19, was arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail. He was held on suspicion of resisting arrest, possession with intent to manufacture or distribute a controlled substance, special offenses for previous offenders, possession of drug paraphernalia, and prohibited use of weapons, according to police.
