
1 Sleepy suspect. Police were called to check on a man sleeping on the ground in Ketring Park,6000 S. Gallup St., Littleton, around midday Jan. 21. The man said he was taking a nap while waiting to meet with his parole officer. Police searched him and found a meth pipe. He claimed he was going to turn it into a bead for a necklace. He was arrested.
2 Bunch of blades boosted. A man living in the 2800 block of West Riverwalk Circle, Littleton, on Jan. 23 reported 27 knives had been stolen from inside his locked apartment earlier that night. The man said he bought two bulk boxes of Frost Cutlery knives in December. He estimated the stolen ones were worth $40.
3 Harassment suspect sought. A woman said she witnessed a man wrapping a chain around a woman’s neck and further physically harassing her on the footbridge for the RTD light-rail station located near 7500 South Platte River Parkway, Littleton, just before 11 p.m. Jan. 22. Both were gone by the time police arrived.
4 Car break-ins tied to fraud. The sheriff’s office is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles parked in the 7500 block of South Platte River Parkway. On Oct. 27 and again on Dec. 27, someone broke into a car in the area and stole credit cards left inside that were later used fraudulently. Police believe the thief remains active.
5 Expensive taste. An employee of Safeway at181 W. Mineral Ave., Littleton, on Jan. 26 stopped a 20-year-old man trying to take three liquor bottles worth a combined $122.23 without paying. The suspect said he was looking for the bathroom.
