
1 Near-indecent exposure. An off-duty police officer yelled at a man he saw carrying a can of beer and unzipping his pants to urinate Jan. 30 near West 52nd Avenue and Vance Street in Arvada. He fled, and officers later arrested him on an outstanding warrant.
2 Faulty memory. A woman in the 17300 block of West 77th Place, Arvada, called police Feb. 3 to report her estranged husband was being aggressive. She was arrested after admitting to smashing dinner plates, throwing his new laptop on the ground and stomping it to pieces before throwing a candle holder and then attacking her estranged husband.
3 Felony menacer. A man caught trying to shoplift $239 in merchandise Jan. 30 from Kohl’s, 15680 W. 64th Ave. in Arvada, told a loss prevention officer he had a gun in his waistband and to “prepare for war” if it came out. Police arrested him for two active warrants, violation of a protection order and felony menacing.
4 Unruly RTD patron. Police ticketed a man Jan. 29 near the 5500 block of Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada after he held up an RTD bus for 17 minutes, cursing at the driver and other passengers. Witnesses said they offered to buy his ticket, but he responded with more name-calling.
5 Carful of trouble. Officers searching a vehicle before it was towed Jan. 28 near Interstate 70 and Wadsworth Boulevard found a backpack with drug paraphernalia and water bottles with false bottoms containing baggies of methamphetamine and prescription pills. The driver faced multiple charges, including four traffic offenses.
