The Denver Nuggets have waived forwards J.J. Hickson and Steve Novak, the team announced Friday.
Hickson, 27, averaged 6.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game for the Nuggets this season. In three seasons with Denver, Hickson averaged 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 22.1 minutes per contest.
Novak, 32, was acquired in Thursday’s deadline-day trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder along with point guard D.J. Augustin and two second-round picks in exchange for Randy Foye.
Novak played in seven games for the Thunder this season, averaging 2.4 points in 3.4 minutes per game.
The moves leave the Nuggets with 13 players on the roster.
