
1 Man threatened with pipe. On Feb. 20, a man was arrested by Denver police after a victim and several witnesses identified him as a suspect who threatened a man with a pipe and tried to choke a woman in the 2200 block of Lawrence Street. The victim said the incident started as a verbal dispute.
2 Random punch at Sputnik. A man was arrested Feb. 21 after he ran into the bar Sputnik, 3 S. Broadway, and struck another man in the face. The victim pinned the suspect to the ground and called for police. While waiting, the visibly intoxicated suspect shouted obscenities and spit in the face of the victim. He had never seen the suspect before.
3 “Friend” steals $40, iPhone. On Feb. 23, a man called police after he was assaulted and robbed in the 1400 block of Birch Street. The victim said he befriended the suspect nearby, who then followed him to an ATM where the victim withdrew $40. The suspect then led the man to a dark corner and threw him to the ground. He took the money and the victim’s iPhone.
4 Woman drops wallet, another takes it. A woman called police on Feb. 19 after she unknowingly dropped her wallet at a Conoco gas station, 1515 Quebec St., and glimpsed another woman pick it up and take it as she walked away. Store surveillance was collected at the scene.
5 Hospital expels drunken visitor. On Feb. 19, police responded to an intoxicated party at Kindred Hospital, 1920 High St., who was asked repeatedly to leave. The suspect was visiting a patient and previously had been expelled from the hospital.
