The 66-year-old woman struck by a sedan in a hit-and-run Tuesday night remains in intensive care as investigators continue searching for the driver responsible.

Denver police said Wednesday they have several promising leads, including parts of the damaged car. Authorities are also reviewing area surveillance footage.

“We have some very good witnesses that saw all of this,” said Lt. Rob Rock, who heads the police department’s traffic investigations division.

The woman near Tremont Place as she tried to cross Park Avenue West. She has several injuries to her head and body, Rock said.

Police did not release the injured woman’s name but say they have been unable to track down any family members.

“This is one of those situations (where) it appears our victim may have been a homeless person,” he added. “She is suffering this alone.”

A Medina Alert, issued to inform the public about hit-and-run vehicles, described the suspect sedan as a dark blue Lincoln Town Car with Colorado license plate QKI-285.

The driver fled southeast on Park Avenue West with front-end damage and a missing passenger side mirror.

Tuesday night’s Medina Alert was the second issued in Denver this year.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
