1 Toy rocket suspected cause of grass fire. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and Evergreen Fire Rescue responded to a small grass fire in the 3000 block of Mountain Meadow Road, Evergreen, on Feb. 19. Two teenaged males said they were in a house nearby and heard a pop before they saw the fire. An unweathered, but burnt, red model rocket was found on scene. There were no suspects.

2 Valentine arrested. A man was arrested Feb. 14 after his wife reported him to the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office mountain precinct, 4990 Jefferson County 73, Evergreen, for abusing and threatening to kill her. The victim had physical signs of abuse. The suspect admitted to grabbing her arms and shaking her, and said she “bruises easily.”

3 Wendy’s manager punched. A manager at Wendy’s, 2912 Evergreen Parkway, Evergreen, reported Feb. 16 that an employee pushed and punched him during an argument. The employee was sent to get supplies from Denver and the manager planned to advise him not to return.

4 Car window damaged. A woman reported Feb. 15 that she found holes in the rear window of her SUV after leaving it parked in the lot of US Bank,2922 Evergreen Parkway, for a few hours Feb. 14. She suspected the damage was done by BBs or small rocks, but also noted the exceptionally high winds in the area that day.

5 Angry friend. A business owner in the 10000 block of U.S. 285, Conifer, reported Feb. 18 that a friend entered and accused her of having an affair with her husband. The suspect yelled for about eight minutes, then left.
