1 Father chokes son in self-defense. On Feb. 17, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the 5000 block of South Reed Way in the Columbine (Littleton) area after a man claimed his father choked him unprovoked, but the father said his son tried to punch him after he confronted him about talking on his phone too loudly. Neither side wished to press charges and the son left for the evening.

2 Fire extinguishers taken, emptied. A man called deputies on Feb. 15 after he arrived at Garage Town, 11616 Shaffer Place, Ken-Caryl, and reported that three fire extinguishers had been broken into at the business and emptied in a nearby alleyway.

3 Notes left on car. On Feb. 16, a woman called deputies to report that her car continues to have notes left on the hood and writing on the windows regarding her parking in a lot in the 9000 block of West Progress Place in the Littleton area. The woman said she follows the rules of parking in the lot, but others disagree.

4 Car keyed after house egged. A woman called deputies on Feb. 18 to report that her car had been keyed overnight in the 4000 block of South Tabor Way in the Morrison area. The woman also said her house had also been egged a few nights earlier.

5 Woman reports IRS fraud. On Feb. 20, a woman called deputies to report a suspicious call at her home in the 4000 block of South Queen Street in the Littleton area. She told deputies that a man called to say she had not paid her taxes in several years and he would have the IRS arrest her. She caught the suspect’s name and hung up.
