Getting your player ready...

The Colorado Rapids pulled off a stunning move Friday, in a trade with the New England Revolution.

If you’re just tuning in, Jones was suspended for the first six games this season after an altercation with referee Mark Geiger during the 2015 MLS Cup playoffs.

On the play, Jones received a long ball in the box and thought he had created a penalty kick after what looked to be a handball. When it wasn’t called, he completely lost it. Just watch:

You can’t put your hands on the referee, kids. Jones saw red and was sent off.

Rapids play-by-play man Richard Fleming has done the math for us. A six-game suspension would mean Jones would be available for the April 16 home match against Supporter Shield winners New York Red Bulls.

I smell a countdown clock:

Countdown to Jermaine Jones’ Rapids debutCountdown

New signing available for home game with on 4/16. Suspended first 6 games of season.
