Denver’s district attorney has charged a man for his alleged involvement in a series of burglaries, including one that ended in an officer-involved shooting Feb. 27.

District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged Alfonso Padilla with four counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of theft, according to a news release from the DA’s office.

Padilla, 25, allegedly stole numerous items from four homes between Feb. 5 and Feb. 27. He is slated to appear in Denver County Courtroom 2100 at 8 a.m. March 15 to be formally advised of the charges against him.

was shot in the lower leg and Gerardino Cayetano Gonzalez, 33, was killed in a shootout when police attempted to question Gonzalez and Padilla in connection with a burglary call.
