1 Muggers caught. Police chased down and captured two of three men who assaulted two other men Feb. 27 in the 5900 block of Carr Street in Arvada and stole one man’s backpack. One of the muggers jumped multiple fences as he fled through backyards before capture. Both were arrested.

2 Troublemaking son. A woman called police Feb. 26 to say her intoxicated son had pushed her and took her car keys before fleeing in her vehicle in the 8000 block of Marshall Court, Arvada. The wrecked vehicle was found in Thornton, and police found and arrested the man three days later at his aunt’s house.

3 Wild wings scuffle. An employee of Buffalo Wild Wings at 15570 W. 64th Ave. in Arvada arrived to work drunk Feb. 27 and began fighting with co-workers while making suicidal statements when they asked her to leave. She was transported to detox and issued a summons for underage drinking.

4 Broken necklace leads to arrest. Police were dispatched to the 12400 block of W. 67th Ave., Arvada, on Feb. 27 on a report of a man and woman screaming at each other in the street. The woman told police her husband was upset about her meth addiction and took $20 from her. She yanked at a set of headphones he was wearing, breaking the headphones and a necklace. She was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

5 Not-so-slick shoplifter. A woman was cited for shoplifting Feb. 29 at Home Depot, 5215 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, after she placed four $3.93 price tags over tags on items valued at $51.78 and attempted to scan them in the self-checkout lane.
