After going through a practice in a regular colored jersey the day before, defenseman Chris Bigras was in an orange no-contact jersey with the Avalanche Tuesday.

After coming off the ice, he said he still has one concussion protocol test to pass before he is cleared to return to the lineup.

In light of all of that, including the fact that he didn’t fully participate in practice Tuesday, it seems unlikely that Bigras will play against Vancouver in the opener of a crucial three-game road trip Wednesday night.

But he is going on the trip and Bigras said he hadn’t suffered any setbacks in the previous 24 hours.

“Until that test is passed, that’s the protocol, that’s what it has to be,” Bigras said of the orange jersey.

He added, “It’s depending on the test and when that can get done.”

He said he was “doing good. It’s nice to be back out there. It hasn’t been that long, a week and a bit, but I missed it already.”

Avalanche coach Patrick Roy didn’t speak to the media Tuesday, so he didn’t additionally comment about Bigras’ status.

Bigras was injured against Nashville on March 5 and has missed three games.
