A 26-year-old Vail man who sold 3 ounces of cocaine to an undercover officer was sentenced Monday to four years on probation, authorities say.

Calen Stephen Golas was convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and cocaine distribution, according to a news release by District Attorney Bruce Brown.

As a condition of his probation sentence, Golas must serve 90 days in the Eagle County Detention Facility and may serve on a work release program, according to the news release.

Golas, who faced up to eight years in prison, pled guilty on Jan. 13.

In June, Golas sold three ounces of cocaine to a confidential informant over the course of two weeks.

Vail Unified Drug Unit members searched his home on June 27 and recovered psychedelic mushrooms and LSD.

They also found the $900 of marked bills the confidential informant had given to Golas for more than 100 grams of cocaine.

In addition to the controlled substances and cash, law enforcement officials found marijuana grow operation, scales, baggies, and other paraphernalia indicative of Golas’ drug dealing scheme.
