A cross-country United Airlines flight was diverted to Denver International Airport on Tuesday afternoon because of a maintenance issue.
The airline said the Boeing 757 was headed from San Francisco International Airport to Washington Dulles International Airport when the problem surfaced.
The plane landed safely in Denver at 4:20 p.m., said Erin Benson, a United spokeswoman.
Flight 727 was carrying 128 passengers and six crew.
“We’re (now) just focusing on getting all of our passengers to their final destinations,” Benson said.
Benson said the airline’s mechanics are investigating what was wrong with the plane. She said details on the maintenance issue were not immediately available.
The diversion happened while part of the Denver airport’s main terminal was evacuated .
