Interview with Dana Nieto, president
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I got into the spa business in general because I had an interest in the health aspect of it. I was injured and I was looking for a nice place with quality services where I could recuperate. It kind of came together in that way because I couldn’t find a place like that, but I found a spa that was selling their equipment. I ended up opening Aqua, which is a spa where we blend holistic treatments ( massage, essential oils, internal wellnesss) with some chosen medical treatments like botox and Juvederm. I created a relaxation and wellness retreat for members of the community to relax, de-stress, look younger and feel better, all under one roof.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We offer 60-minute or 90-minute signature treatments. We utilize hot stones and warm towels with several of the signature treatments as a complimentary enhancement. All of our treatments are customized to your specific needs. We use pure essential oils in treatments. There are two private relaxation lounges and a VIP suite where people share the spa experience with a loved one. You can enjoy time in the infinity hydrotherapy tub prior to your massage. The products used for treatments are like a raw organic diet for your skin. Aqua’s medical director, Lona Jacob, is a nurse practitioner who supervises all medical and holistic internal wellness programs and treatments. Lona has more than 10 years of experience with injectables.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Creating a uniquely designed spa that includes healing rituals and distinctive treatments that will exceed expectations. Spa team members are experts in their fields, with an average of eight to nine years of experience, and are very passionate about their professions. Continuing education is also provided at Aqua though our partners.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Probably communicating how important it is to have high-quality skin care as well a high-quality massage on a regular basis. People don’t always understand how essential these are for their wellness.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Aqua Spa and Wellness offers results-driven spa treatments that utilize raw organic and natural products. We blend in chosen medical treatments to provide maximum results. We have partnered with Eminence Organics, Body Deli, M’Lis, DoTerra, NuFace and SkinCeutials and Allergan, to name a few. We also do community outreach, and we do work on younger teenagers and tweens, as well. Our youth programs are focused on teen athletes and skin fitness. We have memberships geared toward that age group.
