The Aurora Chamber of Commerce named state Rep. Su Ryden its woman of the year last weekend for all she’s done for business community.

Su has consistently advocated for small businesses in Aurora, both as a business owner and now as a legislator,” the chamber’s president and CEO, Kevin Hougen, said in a statement.

She was nominated by several chamber members who cited her legislation that created the “2015 Report on the Comprehensive Military Value and Economic Impact of Department of Defense Activities in Colorado,” Hougen said.

It is a tremendous honor to have been selected as the Aurora Chamber s Woman of the Year,” Ryden stated. “Since the economic crisis that started in 2008, I have supported numerous bills that have contributed to creating good, high-paying jobs throughout Colorado.

Ryden, a Democrat, has represented her Aurora district in the House since 2008. She is prevented by term limits from running for the House again. She is running for the Senate seat held by Morgan Carroll, who is term-linited in the state Senate and is running for the U.S. House. Ryden .
