A Summit County man was sentenced Monday to six years in prison for that left a 26-year-old woman dead.

Steven James Gravatt, 55, of Blue River, pleaded guilty in January to vehicular homicide and third-degree arson, prosecutors said.

Authorities , Gravatt struck and killed in a collision on the 600 block of Airport Road.

The FBI, Summit County prosecutors, Denver police, Denver fire officials and the Colorado State Patrol were involved in efforts to locate Gravatt.

Gravatt’s silver Volkswagen Tiguan was linked to the crash by surveillance video from the scene. It was later found burned and in a Denver junkyard.

“The crime was aggravated by the defendant’s conduct, as he tried to cover his tracks,” 5th Judicial District Attorney Bruce Brown said in a statement.
