Re: Bison coming home to Montana Indian reservation, March 27 news story (online only).

One of the benefits of living in Evergreen is being able to see the bison herd on a regular basis. Traveling on Interstate 70, I get a sense of joy when I see them wandering Genesee Park. I feel like jumping back in time, when these majestic animals roamed in the hundreds of thousands along the high plains and even the Front Range of Colorado.

It is great to hear that this symbol of the Native American culture will make another triumphant return to its home on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana. It is just another example of why it is important to restore an animal that meant the world to not just the native culture, but to our national heritage as well. The buffalo is a symbol of the American spirit that will always be special.
