Re: Help disruptive students, March 27 Dick Hilker column.
(Thinkstock)
I read with interest Dick Hilker s column regarding disruptive students. These students are often students with disabilities and are not bad kids. Child advocates see a significantly higher number of students with disabilities being suspended and expelled from school as compared to students who have not been identified as having a disability. The disparity increases even more when looking at suspension and expulsion rates of non-white children.
