An 18-year-old man faces five felony counts in a suspected driving under the influence crash in Centennial last week that killed two elderly women.

is accused in the case of reckless driving in a vehicular homicide, driving under the influence in a vehicular homicide and reckless driving.

He is also suspected of being in possession of a forged instrument and being an underage person in possession or having consumed alcohol.

Jones, who is free after posting $100,000 bond, is due in court Thursday morning to be formally advised of the allegations against him.

Jones told Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office investigators he had consumed three beers in the hour before near the intersection of South Colorado Boulevard and East Peakview Circle, .

He also admitted to speeding, authorities say. A sheriff’s deputy noted that Jones smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes.

“Am I going to be responsible for those two girls?” he asked after the crash, according to the affidavit.

Gayle Buckwalter, 82, and Audrey Burton, 77, were killed in the crash.

Court records show the wreck was not Jones’ first run-in with police over driving infractions. In November, Taden pleaded guilty to careless driving stemming from an August incident.
