COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who died after falling about 40 feet while hiking or climbing in the foothills near Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reports (http://goo.gl/RYKMPf ) 24-year-old Jose Hernandez suffered severe head trauma when he fell along Gold Camp Road on Sunday night. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police said Hernandez was either hiking or climbing between Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2. No other information was released.
