Arvada Police are hosting a drug take-back event
from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at police headquarters, 8101 Ralston Road.
Unused prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines, pet medications, vitamins, ointments, lotions and inhalers can be dropped off to be disposed of safely.
Donations will be accepted for the Northey Foundation’s scholarship program. It is named after Officer Michael Northey, who was killed on Aug. 11, 1979, and was active with the community’s youths.
The foundation provides scholarships for Arvada students and provides financial assistance for families of killed or injured officers.
