Paramedics and firefighters helped deliver a baby in a parking lot near downtown Denver on Thursday morning.

Kelli Christensen, spokeswoman for Denver Health Medical Center, said medical personnel rushed to the scene at the corner of 6th Avenue and Grant Street outside a Starbucks.

Lt. Mike Pylar, spokesman for the Denver Fire Department, said crews were called to the area about 8:45 a.m. on reports of a “pregnancy medical response.”

Christensen said details on the impromptu delivery were not immediately available, but that the delivery apparently went as smooth as it could have.

“(I) hear (the) mom and baby are doing well,” she said.
