Deputies in Larimer County on Thursday arrested a man in a road rage incident where he followed a woman to a mobile home park and punched her car.
Larimer County Sheriff’s deputies responded at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday when a woman called to say that a man followed her into the Collins Aire Mobile Home Park in the 400 block of North Timberline Road.
The man, Les Austin Johnston, 26, got out of his vehicle and started yelling at the woman and then punching her car. The woman had a small child with her and told deputies she feared for her safety.
When deputies arrived the man had driven a short distance away and was outside of his vehicle.
According to the news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies noticed Johnston was “acting erratically and aggressively toward the deputies so he was detained.”
Johnston also reportedly began resisting arrest and kicked the deputies, hitting one in the chest and face.
Multiple deputies were able to control Johnston and arrest him.
The woman, child, and deputies were not injured. Johnston was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and was later booked into the Larimer County jail.
He is being held on multiple counts including second-degree assault, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
According to Colorado court records, Johnston faced similar charges of harassment for a strike, shove or kick, disorderly conduct and consuming alcohol in public last year. He took a plea deal in August when the disorderly conduct and alcohol charges were dropped.
