One person was seriously injured in a Denver fire early Friday morning that displaced 20 people and three dogs, according to authorities.

The name and condition of the injured person has not been released.

Firefighters were called at 2:41 a.m. to an apartment building at 1205 N. Yosemite, according to Denver Fire Department tweets.

The fire was burning a second-floor apartment where the fire broke out and an adjacent apartment when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the two apartments and evacuated the building.

The Red Cross responded and is helping 19 adults, one child and three dogs who were displaced by the blaze.

Red Cross workers gave evacuees breakfast sandwiches and wrapped them in blankets and met with them on a bus provided by RTD as a place for them to stay warm during the chilly spring morning.

The Red Cross also gave them money for food, clothing and lodging.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
