A Colorado Springs police officer revived a man who had overdosed on heroin by administering a drug, authorities say.

The name of the man who overdosed on heroin has not been released.

Colorado Springs police received an emergency call at 2:04 a.m. Friday about a man who had overdosed on heroin in a home on the 300 South 26th Street.

When police officers arrived the man was unconscious, according to a police report.

One of the officers administered Narcan, an opiate antidote. When paramedics arrived they gave the man more of the same drug.
