Denver International Airport says most airlines expect to operate full schedules Sunday as they recover from a spring snowstorm that resulted in 852 flight cancellations.
Saturday’s shelved flights amounted to 71 percent of the daily schedule, according to an early evening DIA news release.
Delays could persist since the airlines are expected to continue deicing planes prior to takeoff until the snow ends. DIA noted that the forecast called for 2 to 7 inches more snow through Sunday morning, with another 2 inches possible during the day Sunday.
“The airport expects to be busy on Sunday with passengers who rebooked flights,” DIA’s release says. “Passengers traveling tonight or Sunday should confirm their flight schedules and allow extra time on wet or icy roads.”

Airport officials are urge Sunday travelers to give themselves extra time to get to the airport, since roads may be icy.
