LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) — A 31-year-old man has been accused of assaulting a park ranger in Loveland and leading law enforcement on a chase that went into and around Fort Collins.
The Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1p9rGCT ) that according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office the man confronted a ranger at Boyd Lake State Park on Friday, punching the ranger after the ranger noticed the man’s truck may have had stolen plates.
The ranger called for assistance and was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials and officers from the Loveland Police Department responded, spotting the man as he tried to flee the campground.
The man took off, driving into Fort Collins before hitting road blocks. He was arrested on investigation of several charges including assault on a peace officer.
