FORT WORTH, Texas — University of Denver senior Nina McGee won an individual national championship in the floor exercise late Friday, the first NCAA title in the history of the Pioneers’ gymnastics program.
McGee posted a 9.950 score in the event. She finished second last year.
“I feel honored,” McGee said after winning. “My goal has always been to win floor or the all-around at nationals. I’m kind of at a loss for words.”
She finished 10th in the all-around.
