Brighton Fire Rescue firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that broke out in a storage unit early Thursday morning.
The fire was reported at the Pony Express Mini Storage located at 180 Bromley Business Pkwy. at 2:59 a.m. after a passerby on Interstate-76 reported seeing smoke and flames.
Crews from all five Brighton fire stations responded. It took 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze that damaged 20 storage units, according to a news release.
Firefighters used a chain saw to cut through the metal in order to extinguish the flames, the tweet said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The City of Brighton Streets Department helped move storage items with its equipment.
