Curt Schilling’s services are no longer wanted in Grand Junction.

The former Red Sox pitcher’s appearance as a guest speaker at the NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series banquet was canceled in the wake of his Facebook post that was critical of transgender rights.

“In light of these recent events, the Grand Junction Baseball Committee believes his appearance at the banquet would be a distraction to the focus of the event,” the host committee .

over the Facebook post.

This isn’t the first time Schilling’s views have landed him in hot water. A tweet last year that earned him a one-month suspension from ESPN.

The JUCO World Series banquet is scheduled for May 27 at Two Rivers Convention Center. The committee said it’s looking for a new guest speaker.
